We all know Ultralab's Stan is both special, and outstanding. As part of our Stan's second retirement, I requested Stan to be featured on 'Tea at Three' as an ideal guest. Stan has been an unpaid volunteer at Ultralab since his first retirement from Industry, over 15 years ago.

Sadly Steve was unable to host the show, but stand in presenter Liz Mullen did a fantastic job interviewing Stan. Liz presents the Saturday morning show on the station, and has been with the station for some 20 years.

Dr. Stan Owers was the guest on Tuesday 15th February between 3pm - 3.30pm.

Stan spoke about his career, from Fords right through to Ultralab, and how he's now researching his family tree with his dear wife Mary.

Steve requested Stan bring his favorite song, to be played on air during the 30 minute interview. Stan brought along a piece of Jazz music which he enjoys, and was pleasantly surprised to find Liz a fan of Jazz music.

Stan has given so much to Ultralab, and the wider community, his feature on BBC Essex shared locally with our community the achievements Stan has made for industry and education.

People everywhere listened live from all over the world via the Internet, and also on 103.5 and 95.3 FM in Essex. The show has over 100,000 listeners.

Matthew Eaves of Ultralab watched the show from the observation production unit, and took the photographs.
